This tattoo design was created for Michael Smith's "Not Quite Under_Ground Tattoo Studio' as part of Skulptur Projekte Münster. This references two sound artists. One is Max Neuhaus and his 'LISTEN' project in New York city during the 1970's, where le led tours of NYC based on sounds and listening. The other is Pauline Oliveros and her theory of Deep Listening.

but listening is very important
it often depends

people can often have
different perspectives…
that doesn’t necessarily mean
that they’re wrong!?
Both Canada and Denmark claim sovereignty over Hans Island. Periodically, each country will send an expedition, replace the other country's flag with their own and leave a bottle of alcohol for the next visitors.
